Welcome!
I’m Erin — an ACA qualified online Counsellor, Lupus Warrior, and Mum of two.
I provide compassionate online counselling for people navigating chronic illness, lupus, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life’s difficult transitions.
My work is shaped not only by professional training, but also by my lived experience of autoimmune illness and the invisible challenges it can bring.
Living with a chronic condition doesn’t just affect your body — it can shake your identity, your relationships, your confidence, and your hope.
As someone who walks this path personally and professionally, I understand the emotional toll of navigating medical appointments, flare-ups, uncertainty, and the pressure to “keep going” when your body is asking you to slow down.
My approach is warm, grounded, and person-centred. I offer online sessions or walk-and-talk, so support can meet you where you are — physically and emotionally.
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
What is Lupus?
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue in the body. It can cause symptoms such as extreme fatigue, joint pain, inflammation, brain fog, and unpredictable flare-ups.
For many people, lupus is an invisible illness. On the outside, someone may appear fine, while internally managing pain, exhaustion, and the emotional toll of living with a long-term condition.
Living with lupus can impact mental health, identity, relationships, and everyday life. The uncertainty, fatigue, and feeling of being misunderstood can make the journey even harder.
Living With Lupus
Living with lupus often means learning to navigate a life that can feel unpredictable. Some days may feel manageable, while others are shaped by fatigue, pain, or symptoms that make even simple tasks feel overwhelming.
Many people with lupus become experts at pacing their energy, carefully balancing what they can do with what their body needs. At the same time, the emotional impact of living with a chronic illness can bring feelings of grief, frustration, isolation, or being misunderstood.
You are not weak for finding this journey difficult. Living with lupus requires resilience, patience, and compassion for yourself on the days when your body asks you to slow down.
Counselling Support for Lupus & Chronic Illness
Living with lupus can affect far more than physical health. It can influence your mental wellbeing, relationships, confidence, and sense of identity, especially when symptoms like fatigue, pain, and flare-ups are unpredictable.
At Mind Essence Therapy, I offer online counselling for people living with lupus and chronic illness.
Counselling can help you make sense of the emotional impact of chronic illness and give you a supportive space to talk about what you’re going through.
